ANy ideas on how to make a homeade squirrel trap?

My grandfather had an old bird cage with a swing out door that he put a spring on to hold the door shut. He baited it with some nuts and seeds then tied a string to the door and held it open. When the squirel went in he let go of the string and had a trapped squirrel. With a little thought I'm sure you could come up with an auto trip mechanisme. If you're actually wanting to kill the squirrel and you're someplace where you can't shoot a .22 or shotgun get one of those adult air rifles that shoot 1000 fps or more.ANy ideas on how to make a homeade squirrel trap?
A large rat-trap nailed to a tree works really well. Bait with (you guessed it) peanut butter and nuts or bird seed. For a more humane route, you can make a box trap out of almost anything and still use a small mouse trap for the trigger to drop the door.ANy ideas on how to make a homeade squirrel trap?
GET A BB GUN
When I was young we use to make ';what we called'; rabbit gums. They were just box traps that had a trip finger on the inside. We would bait the trap with a piece of apple but I suppose you could use a bait that would attract whatever animal you wanted to catch. I found a diagram of on on line and I will include the address. I didn't look at it too closely but it was the same as the ones we used. We put hardware cloth in one end so it wasn't completely closed in. Hook a peanut on a fishing line and sit up in a tree. Once the squirrel bites you reel it in.
