flying squirrels are not endangered. i don't think they are illegal to own in new jersey but you should call your local wildlife commission. a veterinary hospital might also be able to help you look up that information. Can i own a flying squirrel in new jersey?
Why you would want a flying anything is beyond me but I guess you could check with your local wild life commission,or the police.
I think flying squirls are endangered so it is illegal to keep endangered animals as pets
