Has anyone ever had a pet squirrel? I would like to have one. How do you do that?

Well, a little tricky. Unless you can prove the squirel needs you to survive (i.e. its mother is dead, or it has no legs) then you can't keep it. It is against the law in Canada and almost all U.S. states.

Keeping wild animals is usually a no go due to fear of rabies, or stock depletion.Has anyone ever had a pet squirrel? I would like to have one. How do you do that?
Squirrels are native animals and are illegal to keep as pets.

You can get a licese to be a rehab and take care of injured squirrels. The best thing to dso is contact you local nature center or state fish and game department for information.

Squirrels are wild animals, and while cute, they make lousy pets. It is impossible to provide their needs in a home environment and they are prone to escape, biting and they smell awful.

There are plnety of ther pets that are legal and well adapted to home life.Has anyone ever had a pet squirrel? I would like to have one. How do you do that?
In most places you can not have a pet squirrel. I have rehabilitated them before, and it is a lot of fun! Talk to your local fish %26amp; game department to see if you can help rehabilitate.
Stay away from squirrels as they can carry dysentery disease. Basically, you'll get diarrhea for life.

Once a baby squirrel fell out of its nest n' i took care of it for a while and then sent it back..it was sooooo cute!
I an against any pet. Do you know animals are beautiful in their won living place. If anyone send you to jail how you feel??
I have kept a couple of squirrels, and indeed they are fun and become very friendly and tame. However, it is true that it is usually illegal to keep them and they are a handful! They are VERY activce, require a LOT of space and chew far more than rats or mice!
