What is the best way to cook squirrel?

Cut meat into bite-size pieces, roll in flour, and fry in a pan with onions and peppers. Mmmmmmmmmm. It's really excellent. I used to hunt squirrels with my grandpa back in the 1950's. Thanks for the memory. What is the best way to cook squirrel?

Big Son is right on the mark Squirrel and dumplings is hard to beat.

I use the pressure cooker also only difference I don鈥檛 use chicken broth.

I use the broth off the Squirrel.

I take the squirrel out when the meat will fall off the bones.

Then I remove all the meat place back in the squirrel broth with the dumplings and cook it till the dumplings are cooked.

I use the a chicken and dumplings recipe, and just replace the chicken with squirrel about 3 to 4 squirrels per recipe.

I use standard beef recipes for deer or antelope and poultry recipes for squirrel and rabbit and it works very well.

Venison stroganoff words can not describe how good that is when you use the tenderloin of the deer.

Squirrel and dumplings is hard to beat.

Brown Squirrels then take a pressure cooker and pressure them for 20 minutes , get 2 cans chicken broth and make dumplings like grandmas ( same as granmas with out the chicken).

the pressure cooker to me is a great tool to use on any wild game when there is small fat content.
Tree rats don't have much meat on them. They're OK but a lot of trouble as a meat course. Much better to put them in a soup or gumbo.
Stew!!! Lots of veggies and dumplings!!!!
