The maximum times you should pump a Daisy 880 is 10. With 10 pumps they ';claim'; a maximum of 715fps* with pellets.

*The 715fps will be with very light weight pellets, not average weight pellets.





With average weight(7.9 - 8.3gr) pellets you're going to be around 625-650fps.





You could hunt small game to around 15 yards. With proper shot placement and hunting pellets. Domed pellets work best for hunting.





IMO you need ';around'; 6.0fpe at impact with proper shot placement and pellets for a clean, humane kill on small game.

My instruction manual to my 880 said 630fps for pellets. I would suggust flat pellets, they'll inpact the squirrel the hardest.


The hardest part is hitting them when they're moving. I would suggust to shoot them with something weak, as they stay still thinking you can't see them, and then using a well aimed shot with a pellet, but this kinda seems like a cheap shot.


You should use 10 pumps, less with a poorly aimed shot could make the squirrel suffer, and live for some period of time afterwards.
The Daisy Powerline 880 reaches it's maximum velocity of 750 feet per second with 10 pumps. 600 fps is considered the minimum to kill a squirrel or rabbit although 475 fps can do it with a head shot. 5 pumps will reach this, 8 pumps for 600fps and 10 pumps for 750 fps. Good luck
It shoots about 650 fps using led with ten pumps.Make shure that u use high quality ammo.Crosman premire makes great ammo.





It take about 600 fps to kill a squirel so you are set with this gun.


This gun is also smooth bore so dont expect any good accuracy at all.You will be limited to 20 yards to accuratly shoot with this gun.

10 pumps.gammo performance ballistic allow is good for short range however if your shooting at longer ranges use lead.It maitains energy do to higher weights.If lead use crosman premier hollow points.Also make shure you have a good scope.
I am not sure what exactly an 880 is I am thinking air rifle...?


I would recommend lead pellet with an expansion capability to create a larger wound and facilitate a clean kill and head shots for preference
