Wildlife should never be something you ';adopt.'; Only professionals should rehabilitate animals. A lot of the time, an animal rehabilitated by novices can't fend for itself when they release it. I know you had your heart in the right place, but please let your local wildlife centers do their jobs next time.

Anyways, there actually is a squirrel commonly kept as a pet--the flying squirrel, or sugarglider. If you want to keep one, you'll need to research their care first. They need a pretty big cage with perches and a nesting box, etc. They also need to be fed a well rounded diet. Only after you have done all your research and have everything ready beforehand should you look into getting your actual sugarglider. You can try to find a breeder, check out pet expos, and some people even sell them in the classifieds or the flea market--however, make sure you are getting your pet from a reputable source with experience and good customer satisfaction.Where can i adopt a baby squirrel?
