I found an orphan squirrel and i think he could be sick?

well ive had him for a few days and he has been pretty good. eating, peeing, crapping, but lately he has been twitching at random times. he is staying warm always warm to the touch. so they aren't shivers.

he is like 2 - 3 weeks old. here is a photo.

do you know what might be causing this?

Well first off good on you for taking care of him :)

Have you taken him to see a vet yet? If not maybe this would be a good idea just in general. You can never be too careful when taking care of baby animals.

There are lots of reasons why he could be twitching (yes, if he's asleep he may be dreaming like someone above me has already said). Best thing to do would be to find a vet that's willing to take a look at him and they'll be able to let you know if he is sick or not.I found an orphan squirrel and i think he could be sick?
i really respect you for taking your time to save the wildlife that we have, it cannot be replaced.

are u sure it is a squirrel .... from what it looks like in the pic, it looks like a baby rabbit

well, watever it is, it is very cute!!! and thank you for ssaving it!!

any ways i took care of 6 orphaned rabbits that were 2 days old and they only lasted for 2 weeks...which is pretty good, bbut the chances of them surviving with out their mother is very slim ( so my vet told me)

i did everything my vet told me to do : keep them warm, in a dark, quiet place, just like the nest they are used to living in...

i miss them very dearly....

any ways, to answer your question..... i hate to be saying it.... he might be dying

I AM NOT 100 percent sure ....but he has a very little chance survivng with out his mother

good luck!!!

ps try asking your vet for more tips.... they could help u A LOT!!!
it is against the law for you to be in possession of wildlife unless you are a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. please find a wildlife rehabilitator in your area to care for the squirrel. websites below. thank you.

Well, he could be dreaming. Lots of animals twitch in their sleep when they dream. But it's just a guess.
