if so, what ammo could you useCan you kill a squirrel with a daisy powerline 901?
yes you can so long as you can hit themCan you kill a squirrel with a daisy powerline 901?
%26gt;%26gt;Can you kill a squirrel with a Daisy Powerline 901%26lt;%26lt;
Yes, but only out to around 15 yards.
They ';claim'; 715fps with pellets for the 901. That would be with light weight pellets, not average weight lead hunting pellets. More than likely you will be somewhere between 625-650fps with 7.9gr-8.3gr pellets
IMO you need ';around'; 6.0fpe at impact for a clean, humane kill on small game. That's with proper shot placement and hunting pellets.
.177 caliber
575fps - 8.3gr = 6.09fpe
%26gt;%26gt;What ammo could you use%26lt;%26lt;
';Domed'; pellets work best for hunting purposes
Crosman Premier
RWS
Beeman
JSB
H%26amp;N
I have always had good luck with RWS %26amp; Beeman pellets.
Later: %26lt;added%26gt; Gamo PBA ';Raptors'; are among the WORST pellets, for hunting, ever. And, they cost almost 5 times as much as good quality pellets. If you're going to purchase pellets who's only use is, they sound cool. %26gt;Break the sound barrier in high velocity rifles%26lt;, at least purchase Crosman Silver Eagle pellets. They will do the exact same thing and they don't cost a fortune...
if you are going to kill a squirrel, use lead projectiles, they have more 'umpff'
I don't know what the fps of that gun is, but to humanely hunt/kill small game with an air rifle, use a .177 that fires 950 fps or higher or a .22 that fires at 750 fps or higher
The best pellets i have used yet are the gamo raptors. You can actually hear/see the difference.
And yes, you could definitely kill a squirrel w/ a powerline.
try the pointy ones .177cal i think i kill them all the time, they go and eat the corn so yeah
