between $200-$600 depending on condition.I inherited a 1961 golden 39a marlin 22 rifle it has a golden trigger an a squirrel carved on the butt worth?
When you look it up look for

';Golden 39A';

They are quite common and run about $350 in perfect condition, pre 1970 manufacture would add about $100 to a collector, again in perfect condition

I paid $200 for '56 in as perfect condition as I have ever seen because the previous owner had to replace a bulged barrel on a 39A with the barrel from a Golden 39A

The older 39As with case hardened receivers were worth much more and the even older 39s in perfect condition would be museum pieces
If I was u mate I would take it to a specialist gun and armourer dealer. DO NOT take it into a normal antique shop or you will get roasted (techy term for bumped lol). The experts will take a comision of usually between 10 %26amp; 15 %. This is normal practice..........its how they make their living.

Next advice would be to ne3ver take the first sum offered.....antique dealers are as notorious,conmen as second hand car dealers.
Go to your local library and ask for a copy of ';The Bluebook of Gun Values'; by S. P. Fjestad. They may have to get it for you through inter library loan. Just ask.

Id hang onto it. The 39a is an exceptional gun. My dad has one. One whale of a shooter.
