How to cach a squirrel without killing it?

and i do not wanna call the pest cantrol and make a big deal and i also do not have a trap so any ideasHow to cach a squirrel without killing it?
Not a very good pet. It will bite and claw the hell out of you!How to cach a squirrel without killing it?
It's a wild animal, you are not going to keep it as a pet

All you can do is imprison it in a cage and let it live an extremely shortened life

Wild squirrels do not do well in captivity I have seen them die within a day or two just from the stress, if they even survive the in itial sound of the trap slamming shut

Get a Havahart and some peanut butter and a $1 bag of roasted peanut

Smwer PB on the trigger plate and toss a few (not the whole bag) peanuts around with a few leading to the tap

Then either take the thing a mile from the house and let it go or drown it

Either would be more merciful than playing Dr Doolittle

It is in no way the responsibility of animal control to come take care of home owner's vermin

Salt does not make squirrels or any other animal human friendly

Squirrels are one of the easiest animals to trap
My neighbor has this trap, it's a metal wire like cage and when the squirrel goes in it the door shuts behind him so he can't get out. It's pretty cheap and it's totally humane, the squirrel doesn't get hurt at all, just make sure you get to him right away so he doesnt die of thurst or starvation. To lure him in you can put pieces of bread with peanutbutter on them and line them up so they lead him to the cage and put a few in their so he's tempted to go in. Just make sure theres no little kids around because my neighbor's grandson was about 3 at the time and he used to find the bread and eat it off of the grass before the squirrels got to it hahaa
buy a cat trap and put food inside. once it steps inside the door will close and trap him inside. then you can take it and release it with the release door on the back. if you do not want to buy one then rent one at a local animal shelter or store. It will save you money doing this rather then calling out pest control and the squirrel will not be killed.
Well without a live trap it will be very hard! They are smart little critters. There are some at Cabelas that are very reasonable. Here is a link to their web site. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/common鈥?/a>

If you don't want to buy a trap maybe ask some friends and family if they know of anyone that has one to borrow. Good Luck!
Squirrels make poor pets. They claw and bite. They can carry rabies. It may be illegal to keep a squirrel as a pet in your state. Just sit outside and enjoy watching him. Or if he is causing problems in the yard and it is legal where you are at, shoot it and eat it.
Buy a trap at the local hardware store or either call Pest Control. It will NOT be a big deal because it is THEIR JOB.

Before anything, what are you going to do with them?

Added--- WILD animals are WILD.. they do NOT make good pets.
You don't want to keep one as a pet.

They are solitary in the wild, and are not 'wired'

to be 'social' as are most pets.

They are nasty little creatures and get more

aggressive as they age.

You WILL be bitten.
Unless you are a cat, you will need to go buy or borrow a box trap of some kind. Call animal control it is their job, would you not call the fire department so as to avoid a ';big deal';?
Ever heard of a trap?

A lot of animal control departments will have traps that they can loan you. It's not a ';big deal';, that's their job. Give them a call.
I would suggest getting a baby squirrel if you want it as a pet. A big one will probable chew out, but you can catch one with a trap.
make a trail of food if its inside...other than that go buy a trap from a store and set it up.
hav-a-hart trap

or have-a-heart trap.

as around until you find a friend that has one.
Use flash bang grenades.
Snare Trap.
mothballs they hate the smell.
put some food in a cage then pull out the stick to trap him.
try a nut trap
sprinkle salt on it's tale. it will slow it down and make it ';human- friendly';. It works for rabbits. not sure about squirrels though.
