Can a squirrel mate with a raccoon?

No. Their DNA is, as they say, ';incompatible.'; They have different genes that do different things at different places on their chromosomes.Can a squirrel mate with a raccoon?

Not to mention that a squirrel probably wouldn't be attracted to a raccoon. Well, unless he was kind of kinky and enjoyed that masked look. ;-%26gt;

In extreme situations where both would become intimate buddies, both could probably mate but there will never be any reproduction. Both are of very different species. (That is just my guess.)
