Do any of you know any tips for squirrel hunting in the woods with a 1000 fps pellet gun?

With that small of a projectile you need to get VERY close. Set up early, before sunup, so you can be waiting when the squirrels get up. Be very quite and don't shoot until they are close enough for you to get the shot you want, preferably a head shot. Also, use the hunting pellets, the ones with a pointed end. Practice, practice, practice, and then practice some more. You need to be extremely accurate with that gun to get a head shot.Do any of you know any tips for squirrel hunting in the woods with a 1000 fps pellet gun?
Same as with any gun. Find their trees set up early and wait.Do any of you know any tips for squirrel hunting in the woods with a 1000 fps pellet gun?
I would check your hunting laws. It is not legal to hunt game with air rifles in some states.

My suggestion would be spend $100 - $125 and buy a decent .22 or single shot 410
get a 17. they work great for squirrel and other varmits. Unless you plan on eating the squirrels, the 17 does kinda blow 'em up.
Use the heaviest weight of pellet available. Don't try for long shots as the pellet will loose velocity and energy quickly. Practice shooting targets untill you have the ability to place your shot where you want it to go. Try to shoot the squirrel in the head if possible. Wear camoflage clothing and try stand hunting. Be very very still and quiet and try not to move. If you are old enough to own a 1000fps pellet gun, I think you are old enough to have a .22 rifle or .410 shotgun. I love hunting with a .410 single shot as it is an effective squirrel gun, the pellets will not travel a real long range and it does not kick real hard for a smaller person. Hope this helps. Be safe and obey the hunting laws. Being a good sportsman is far more important that harvesting squirrels. Remember, if you kill them, you'd better eat them. Killing just for killings sake is not hunting, it is perversion.
Shot em in the head.
tip 1- turn 18

tip 2- buy a real gun

tip 3-shoot squirrel

Not trying to be rude, but without good head shots at close range it is inhumain to shoot squirrel with pellets....

here why ...a pellet at 1000fps only generates 12ft/lbs of energy, where a 22lr generates 80 to 125ft/lbs of energy and it is barely adequit for squirrels.

p.s. if you do try with the pellet gun I hope you hit him, pissing him off , and it attacks you.
